Early Plug-and-Play

88 years ago today, on September 29, 1920, radio went commercial.  Before that, if you wanted to listen to radio, you built your own.  Interestingly, the article points out that commerical radio broadcast is weeks away.

Just 88 years forward from this, can you imagine having to build something and all you get for it is an audio signal?
