Trapped in a drain, two girls in Australia updated their Facebook status instead of calling for emergency help. What does it say about society, communication, and adolescents that social networking trumps 911 (or in Australia’s case, 000)?
I was prepared to blog today about The Journal of Student Ministries report that the average American Teen sent and received a total of 2,272 text messages a month in the 4th quarter of 2008. This was double the previous year.
The 911 system, that still isn’t up to snuff in all areas, is old news to the young genearion.
