Is it just me, or does an institution’s claiming to uphold or follow “Christian Principles” or “Christian Values” need a bit more fleshing out than that?
Is it a Christian Principle that baptism must be by immersion? Or that baptism doesn’t matter?
Is it a Christian Value that mosques shouldn’t be built near Ground Zero? Or that Christians must accept Muslims as partners in mission?
Is it a Christian Principle that says Caesar can tell Christians when and whom to kill? Or that the the secular State ought to pay attention to Christian lobbyists?
Is life a Christian Value more when it is about an unborn baby than a convicted criminal?
I’m sorry; there is just too much wiggle room when a group or institution or agency proclaims Christian Principles or Christian Values.
We need more information than that.
