Giving God a bad name in the end

This past Saturday added to the list of things I’d never like to hear at a funeral again.

I hope I never again hear a clergy (let alone anyone) stand at the microphone, cite Romans 3:23 (which reads in the KJV “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”) then sit down.

Sit down BEFORE you say that. I’m pretty sure funeral services were not what Paul had in mind when he wrote that.

Here’s my “favorite” thing I hope never to hear at a funeral again:  “Here is the question for you today: how would you like eternity – smoking or non-smoking?”

In the words of the great Dave Barry, no, I am not making this up!

Peace, and Merry Xmas!
