Steeple Envy: a Book Review

While one shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, I am a sucker for a clever title.  Therefore, I leapt at the opportunity to read and review Vic Cuccia’s Steeple Envy.

Like many of the other books I have read for Speakeasy Blogger Review, ViralBloggers Network, and the others, Steeple Envy is another book by a Christian – even a pastor – who has become disillusioned by standard evangelical Christianity in the US.

Mr. Cuccia (should I write “Reverend”?) writes well, though, and tells a good story.  It doesn’t hurt that the story he tells resonates within my own soul; there is something deeply off in institutional Christianity in the US – whether it is mainline or evangelical.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the author and/or publisher through the Speakeasy blogging book review network. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR,Part 255.
