I am a United Methodist pastor, proud dad, husband, son, and brother.  I married the beautiful and gifted Rachel Giessen in February of 2007. My oldest child, over 25 now, is a veterinary technician in Waco. Robbie loves animals and people and, I’d like to think, inherited my razor wit.In May 2010 Eliza Megan, my first child with Rachel, was born in Waco. In April, 2012, William “Liam” Henry Heyduck joined our family.

I consider myself a postmodern, possibly emergent Christian.

I currently serve as Senior Pastor of Euless First United Methodist Church, in Euless,Texas.  I was appointed here in June, 2012.  As my first step back into the pastorate after more than five years as Chaplain at the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, I have been astounded at the warm welcome my family and I have received in Euless.  It has sparked my creativity and vision for ministry.

I enjoy running, reading, watching movies and television, sports, photography, and great conversation. Oh, yeah, and coffee. And microbrews.

  1. I’m a follower of Jason Valendy’s blog and it led me here. What a pleasant surprise to see Rachel’s picture on the blog and realize her husband is the blog author! I’m a huge Rachel fan. Give her my love and, with your permission, I’d love to follow your blog. Mine is not nearly as profound as yours or Jason’s but feel free to check it out at http://glassyeyedjo.blogspot.com.

Congratulations on finishing your 12th book of the year. I’m a librarian and an avid reader.

  2. Nice site you have here. Some great information about you, but poking around on the Welcome and Home pages, I didn’t see your name!? Maybe I missed it. I saw your wife’s name and some info about your daughter – but your name?
